The years go by, trends change, but Disturbed remains Disturbed.

On Friday, the multiplatinum hard rockers dropped a new song, “Unstoppable,” that is just as heavy, aggressive and classically Disturbed as you’d expect:

It’s the second song shared thus far from a new album, Divisive, which will be released on Nov. 18 and came with this statement from singer David Draiman and the band:

“Partisan tribal warfare has become a part of our regular existence nowadays. It’s one big battle of the cliques. The whole idea of the record is to be a wakeup call for everyone. Our society has become addicted to outrage. Music is the best cure for what ails us though. If only everyone reached out and used it. There’s no better environment to forget about all of this shit than live music. We can be together and realize we have more in common than not. Recognize what’s happening and let’s make a change for the better.”

“Hey You,” the first song shared from the record, more or less sums up that official band statement in musical form:

Here’s the track listing for the album — notice one featuring Heart singer Ann Wilson, which sounds intriguing:

1. Hey You
2. Bad Man
3. Divisive
4. Unstoppable
5. Love to Hate
6. Feeding the Fire
7. Don’t Tell Me (feat. Ann Wilson)
8. Take Back Your Life
9. Part of Me
10. Won’t Back Down

Anyone familiar with the Chicago-based alt/metal band’s career knows how consistent the band has been since bursting onto the scene with 2000’s The Sickness (led by the iconic “nu-metal” hit “Down with the Sickness”). In the years since, the band has released seven albums, the most recent being 2018’s Evolution.

Stay tuned — Disturbed sounds as charged-up as ever with this new material so far!
