The new music video for “Here to Forever,” a song shared by Death Cab for Cutie this week, depicts band leader Gibbard taking control of the process of pressing his group‘s new album, Asphalt Meadows, on vinyl.

It’s a pretty meta video, which also intercuts performance footage of the band playing the song, a lively indie/rock anthem with that classic Death Cab sound.

“It’s a song both about our impermanence and the anxiety of these times,” said Gibbard of the song. “It’s also about wanting to believe in something bigger even when it feels like nothing is out there.”

As detailed previously, Asphalt Meadows is set for release on Sept. 16. The band’s 10th studio album to date, it was first previewed with “Roman Candles”:
