On Monday night, Jimmy Kimmel Live paid tribute to TJ Riley, an emergency and trauma nurse from Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx in the form of a split-screen video chat with Kimmel (filming from home), who thanked Riley for his service and aid in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. For Riley, a huge Foo Fighters fan, this also meant a surprise three-way chat with none other than Dave Grohl, who joined the conversation a few minutes in and left Riley *very* excited.

Grohl then played “Everlong” on an acoustic guitar for Riley, who also received $10,000 and gift packages for every nurse in his department thanks to Life is Good.

The enthusiasm with which Riley received this surprise call from his musical hero will make you smile — and this sort of thing is the least we can do for healthcare workers and first responders right now.

The #HealthCareHero is an ongoing bit from Jimmy Kimmel Live honoring those essential workers making a difference right now. Do you know somebody who deserves a shout-out? If so:
