Dave Grohl & Greg Kurstin #HanukkahSessions 2021 Night Four: Van Halen “Jump,” in Honor of David Lee Roth

The fourth night of Hanukkah is tonight, Dec. 1, and that means a fourth music video for the #HanukkahSessions, the ongoing Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin series of songs paying homage to Jewish musicians/entertainers.
This time around, they’re sporting their best, most inspired Van Halen impressions for “Jump,” in special recognition of Mr. David Lee Roth himself:
Quite possibly the loudest and proudest of hard rocking Jews, @DavidLeeRoth has gone on record crediting his Bar Mitzvah preparation as his earliest vocal training. He became a rockstar the day he became a man: Diamond Dreidel DLR and @VanHalen …with “Jump.”

It rules:
The previous three entries in the #HanukkahSessions 2021 have covered three wildly different types of music. First up was Lisa Loeb’s “Stay (I Missed You),” a classic ’90s radio hit turned into a death metal anthem and featuring Grohl in a Betsey Johnson dress:
For Night Two, they focused their attention on the Ramones and “Blitzkrieg Bop”:
That was followed by a delightfully campy ode to Barry Manilow’s “Copacabana” for Night Three:
Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin first started this #HanukkahSessions series in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, as a means of celebrating classic musical contributions from Jewish artists. There are still more days left of the holiday, so stay tuned, because more musical madness is coming.
