Dave Grohl & Greg Kurstin Close #HanukkahSessions 2021 with The Clash & KISS (Watch the Whole Series)

Another Hanukkah season is in the books, and with it another installment of #HanukkahSessions, the spirited musical series from Dave Grohl & Greg Kurstin that found the Foo Fighters front man and award-winning musician/producer paying homage to noteworthy Jewish musical acts with entertaining covers.
The series concluded on Sunday night with Night Eight, the final night of Hanukkah, and one that found the pair donning KISS makeup for “Rock N’ Roll All Nite,” their video including a fully immersed trip to the gas station:
Along with that final entry in the series, Grohl & Kurstin said this:
Ladies and gentlemen….we made it. Night 8! And what better way to celebrate another year of Hanukkah Sessions than Chaim Witz and Stanley Eisen….two young lads from Queens that set the world (and thousands of stages) on FIRE as Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of @kiss !!!
.@GregKurstin and I would like to thank all of the people that helped ramp up the #HanukkahSessions this year. It’s gonna be tough to beat! (But we will. Oh, we will…..) We hope that this year’s batch of hits has brought a little joy to you, as it surely did to us!
This last bit of inspired musical magic followed Night Seven, which was a tribute to Mick Jones of the Clash in the form of “Train in Vain”:
Michael Geoffrey Jones, born to Russian Jewish mother Renee Zagansky, would come to be known as punk rock legend Mick Jones, co-founder of @TheClash. It’s London Calling Jerusalem as we take a “Train In Vain.” #hanukkahsessions#happyhanukkah#chanukah
The second such instance of the #HannukahSessions series from Dave Grohl & Greg Kurstin, the first six nights featured equally entertaining musical salutes to the following:
Night One: Lisa Loeb, “Stay (I Missed You),” which was turned into a death metal anthem and found Grohl in a Betsey Johnson dress:
Night Two: “Blitzkrieg Bop” by the Ramones:
Night Three: “Copacabana” by Barry Manilow:
Night Four: “Jump” by Van Halen, a shout-out to David Lee Roth:
Night Five: “Take the Box” by Amy Winehouse, as sung by Grohl’s daughter, Violet:
Night Six saw the pair channeling Billy Joel for “Big Shot!”:
Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin first started this #HanukkahSessions series in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, as a means of celebrating classic musical contributions from Jewish artists.
