Carlos Santana was supposed to play a series of concerts in Las Vegas as part of his ongoing residency at the House of Blues this May, but on Thursday the legendary guitarist‘s camp announced that the May shows have been canceled as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Via a statement:

“On behalf of Carlos and the entire Santana Organization, I would like to thank you all for your continued support. We are all in this together and we will come out of this stronger than ever. We look forward to seeing you all soon and bringing the music of Santana back to Las Vegas soon,” said Michael Vrionis, Universal Tone Management/Santana.
As of now, the Fall 2020 shows of Santana’s residency are still in effect for the following dates:
• Sept. 16, 18-20, 23, 25-27
• Nov. 4, 6-8, 11, 13-15
This news comes after Carlos Santana recently canceled his scheduled European tour dates for the same reason.

As of now, at least, Santana and his band’s summer tour with Earth, Wind & Fire is still on — but, as we’ve seen recently with a number of high-profile postponements (such as Pearl Jam’s upcoming tour and the possible postponement of Coachella), that can all change quickly, depending on the coronavirus discourse.
