In late October, Carlos Santana announced a big 2020 tour that would be taking him to various locations in Europe — but now, in light of rising concerns over the coronavirus on a global scale, the guitarist has had to cancel those dates for the time being.

As announced on Tuesday, Santana’s Miraculous World Tour dates, which were to begin on March 14 in Italy — one of the countries most affected by the virus so far — have been officially canceled, with refunds available where requested.

A statement from Michael Vrionis, President of Universal Tone Management:

“It is with great disappointment that I have to inform our fans that we are cancelling our upcoming Europe Tour. Many countries have made the decision to restrict public gatherings in excess of 1,000 people to curb the potential spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). While we deeply regret this unfortunate circumstance, the safety of our fans is the main priority for the Santana Organization. We will keep you all informed of new performance dates as they are made, and will make every effort to return to Europe soon. Thank you all very much for your understanding,”

The affected dates:

3/14/20 – Bologna, Italy – Unipol Arena
3/15/20 – Zürich, Switzerland – Hallenstadion Zürich
3/17/20 – Kraków, Poland – TAURON Arena Kraków
3/19/20 – Budapest, Hungary – Budapest Arena
3/20/20 – Vienna, Austria – Wiener Stadthalle
3/22/20 – Munich, Germany – Olympiahalle
3/23/20 – Cologne, Germany – Lanxess Arena
3/24/20 – Antwerp, Belgium – Sportpaleis
3/26/20 – Glasgow, UK – The SSE Hydro
3/27/20 – London, UK – The O2
3/29/20 – Dublin, Ireland – 3Arena
3/31/20 – Amsterdam, Netherlands – Ziggo Dome
4/2/20 – Oslo, Norway – Oslo Spektrum
4/3/20 – Stockholm, Sweden – Ericsson Globe
4/5/20 – Helsinki, Finland – Hartwall Arena

As of now, at least, Carlos Santana and his band’s summer tour with Earth, Wind & Fire is still on — but, as we’ve seen recently with a number of high-profile postponements (such as Pearl Jam’s upcoming tour and the possible postponement of Coachella), that can all change quickly, depending on the coronavirus discourse.
