On August 14, Warner Bros. will release a film titled Blinded By the Light –– and if you immediately thought of the Boss when you read that title, you’re on the right track.

The film is largely inspired by the music of Bruce Springsteen, something that’s made abundantly clear in its official trailer, which debuted recently:

Chronicling the story of a Pakistani teen named Javed in the mid-1980s, it definitely looks like it’ll be one of those coming-of-age films where he has to find himself, all set to the music and themes of Springsteen’s iconic catalog of music.

Blinded By the Light was directed by Gurinder Chadha, known largely for her work directing the 2002 film Bend It Like Beckham. And the film as a whole was inspired by the life and works of British journalist Sarfraz Manzoor and his book, Greetings from Bury Park, which was released in 2007.

This is at least the second film coming up later this year that concerns the works of an iconic musical act as its main focus — as Yesterday, scheduled to hit theaters in September, imagines a world in which everybody “forgot” the Beatles:

Both of these films look like they’re inspired in part by a desire to help spread the influence of these iconic musical acts to younger audiences who might not innately be as aware of them, and who can argue with that?
