On Friday, veteran rockers 311 premiered “Crossfire,” an aggressive, riff-based new song that serves as the first track to their upcoming album, Voyager:

Back in April, the band returned with a pair of songs from a new album titled Voyager. One was the pop-oriented “Good Feeling,” conceived with the help of producer John Feldmann:

“Don’t You Worry,” on the other hand, is a space-y, guitar-driven, almost prog-rock-lite composition  featuring some inspirational lyrics from Hexum and Doug “S.A.” Martinez. Showcasing the band’s dynamic songwriting abilities, this one’s more closely linked with their past catalog of music than “Good Feeling.”

The three songs are from the band’s new album Voyager, which is scheduled for release on July 12. It’ll be 311’s 13th studio album to date, and the first since 2017’s Mosaic.

Said vocalist Nick Hexum of the album’s title:

Our albums have become almost like a captain’s log documenting our band’s ongoing voyage through musical styles, while also capturing our feelings and life experiences. With each album, 311 continues to voyage, explore and push our musicality into new dimensions.”

  5. “Dream State”

  9. “Dodging Raindrops”
  10. “Rolling Through”

In the build-up to Mosaic, guitarist Tim Mahoney went in-depth with Rock Cellar about the band’s creative process and working alongside Feldmann — click here to read all that.
