Long-running alt/reggae rockers 311 recently began a summer tour with special guests Iration and Iya Terra, the band’s first gigs in front of a live audience since before the pandemic hit in March 2020.

In keeping with a trend that the band carried out during the pandemic, 311 plans to live stream a few select shows from the tour throughout the trek — and, now, a very special Halloween Weekend gig at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Co., one of three Colorado concerts the rockers play to play over the three-day span.

You may recognize that hotel as the spot seen in the classic horror/suspense film The Shining. Yes, that one!

The details:

10/29 Fri. Fox Theater, Boulder CO
10/30 Sat. Ogden Theater, Denver CO
10/31 Sun. Stanley Hotel, Estes Park CO

Per a news release, these shows promise some serious intimacy, as well:

The shows will be some of the most intimate capacities that 311 has played in decades. Fox Theater at 625 capacity, Ogden Theater at 1,600 and Stanley Hotel at 565.

More details regarding the Stanley Hotel gig, as well:

The Stanley Hotel is the infamous hotel featured in the film, The Shining (starring Jack Nicholson). The beautifully restored hotel, originally opened in 1909. By the 1970s the hotel’s splendor had faded. It might have eventually succumbed to the wrecking ball, if not for a fortuitous visit by author Stephen King. A one night stay was enough to inspire his third major work and first hardcover bestseller The Shining, which remains a landmark masterpiece, and was adapted into the 1980 film. The hotel to this day is known to have “active” phenomena and a colorful history of paranormal, spirited tales of being haunted by several different ghosts, from past owners to children, and even a couple pets.
