An Artist Recreated the Sgt. Pepper's Cover with the Cultural Icons Who Died in 2016

2016 has been tough year. We’ve lost cultural icons like David Bowie, Prince, Muhammad Ali, Leonard Cohen, Glenn Frey, Leon Russell, Sharon Jones and Alan Rickman, just to name but a few — and that’s not even including George Michael and Carrie Fisher, both of whom passed away within a week of this writing.
It’s definitely been rough, seeing so many of our favorite musicians, actors, and pop culture luminaries pass away. An artist named @ChrisTheBarker took it upon himself to insert photos of every one of these figures that has died over the past year (or so) and incorporate them all into the Beatles’ iconic Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band artwork. The result is as impressive as it is sobering to see displayed in this manner:
I'm really sorry everyone. This is so sad. I feel awful. #RIPCarrieFisher #sgtpepper2016 May the force be with 2017. pic.twitter.com/3HJM8mJPVQ

There’s also a legend with a detailed breakdown of each, in case you don’t recognize all of them:

May they all rest in peace.
